DESCRIPTION:The 2022 CAREC Conference and Exhibition\, under the theme ‘Navigating the Course of Power Sector Modernisation and Combatting Climate Change with Green Electricity and Resilient Infrastructure’\, will particularly focus on learning and development through educational and insightful sessions on power grid resilience\, RE expansion\, alternative energy services\, and e-mobility. CARILEC envisions that the critical examination of these topics will tremendously assist energy sector professionals\, in their thrust to reduce fossil-fuel generation and carbon emissions\, thereby bringing the region closer to a more affordable and reliable electricity supply in a sustainable future. This conference explores how to drive value\, overcome challenges\, and increase business capabilities by sharing best-practices\, lessons learnt\, expertise\, and resources among regional and international energy industry leaders.

The climate crisis disproportionately affects African nations and Small Island Developing States – in a time where action is needed\, the first step is to build bridges. This session brings together voices from SIDS and the African continent to find common ground in the lead up to COP27. \nWith Dr. Omnia El Omrani\, COP27 Youth Envoy\,  Yasmine Encelade\, SMO Solar and Basil Angaga\, Chief Sustainability Officer\, County Government of Mombasa.
