CCSA is the Island Finance Forum 2022 Gold Sponsor

The 2022 Island Finance Forum (IFF) begins today, with the entirely virtual event lasting between 25th – 29th April set to draw over 6,000 attendees from around the world. The IFF brings together senior financiers, development partners and regulators to share and exchange expertise on sustainable and inclusive financial structures in island communities. As a result of this, the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) identified the event as a key opportunity to promote sustainable financing in the region, and became a gold sponsor of the event.

Unlocking finance for resilience-building projects in the Caribbean is one of the Accelerator’s main goals as it strives to create a sustainable future for the region. The CCSA’s involvement at the IFF reflects its commitment to finding the right solutions for local communities and matching it with the right financial support. Among the 80+ speakers who will be featured throughout the week, CCSA Director of Public Sector Projects Keisha Farnum will speak on the first day of the IFF at a session titled “Slow and Steady Wins: The Race to Net-Zero Islands”, alongside:

  • Craig Weise, Chief Executive, New Zealand Green Investment Finance;
  • Mairi Gougeon MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs & Islands, Scottish Government;
  • Azell Francis, Energy Policy Associate; and
  • Tangi Tereapii, Director of Renewable Energy Development Division, Office of the Prime Minister, Cook Islands Government.

This session will see panelists discuss the importance of the Race to Net-Zero, and the challenges and opportunities facing global islands. CCSA CEO Racquel Moses will also be participating at the IFF’s Island Awards Ceremony. Mrs Moses is one of the judges for the Island Awards, which rewards the best projects, changemakers and developments made across global islands in twelve different award categories. The session will take place on April 29th at 8am ET.
