Webinar: The Role of Non-Party Stakeholders in Shaping NDCs 3.0

March 7

The Webinar on The Role of Non-Party Stakeholders (NPS) in Shaping NDCs 3.0 will bring together key stakeholders from across the Caribbean and beyond to discuss the vital contributions of civil society organizations, private sector, financial institutions, subnational governments, and regional institutions in shaping and implementing the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

This event, organized through a partnership with the UNFCCC RCC Caribbean, NDC Partnership, UNDP, and UNEP, and supported by the UNFCCC Communications and Engagement Division, will explore the role of NPSs in driving the success of the NDCs 3.0. With countries required to submit new and more ambitious NDCs by 2025, this webinar will highlight how local and regional NPSs can strengthen climate action by sharing experiences, cooperating in climate action formulation, and catalyzing initiatives to boost adaptation and mitigation efforts.

Key focus areas of the webinar include:

  • Engagement of NPSs in NDC Implementation: Discussing the specific role of NPSs in scaling up climate action and strengthening implementation across the Caribbean and other regions.
  • Scaling NDC Implementation: Focusing on addressing the climate finance gap and exploring pathways for enhancing the investability of NDCs, including through project preparation, pipeline development, and financial instruments.
  • Supporting Climate Action through Partnerships: Examining how governments, financial institutions, and international partners can better support NPSs in their efforts to implement impactful climate solutions.

The Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) will participate in the panel discussion, sharing its experiences supporting Caribbean nations with NDC implementation. During this session, CCSA will showcase the Climate Smart Map, demonstrating how data-driven insights can support climate adaptation, risk assessment, and investment decision-making.
