The 2022 Search for World-Changing Climate Solutions is On
For decades, the Caribbean has stamped its authority in the global arena in areas of academia, business, entertainment, literature, sport and more. Time and again, Caribbean people have demonstrated that they have the creativity, resilience and determination to overcome adversity and limitations and achieve goals previously thought unattainable. That is the strength of Caribbean people.
With The Earthshot Prize 2022 we again have the opportunity to establish the Caribbean as a global leader in climate-smart innovation with the ability to transform the future of the region.
The search for the winners of The Earthshot Prize 2022 has begun and Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) is proud to be an Official Nominator. Launched in 2020 and with the first incredible winners announced in October 2021, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history.
As an Official Nominator, we are part of a global forward-thinking group of over 340 organisations from across the world, invited to submit nominations across all five Earthshot categories, selected for our ability to identify the most impactful solutions across all sectors, from grassroots to businesses.
Impactful Caribbean Solutions
We are searching for nominations from Caribbean individuals, communities, businesses and organisations whose solutions make the most progress towards achieving the five Earthshots – simple but ambitious goals which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come.
The Earthshot Prize will consider solutions which make tangible progress towards one of the five Earthshots. They should be beyond the idea stage, have tested their solution in-field or with target audiences, and are at a ‘tipping point’ for scaling their impact within the next five years.
The Five Earthshots:
1. Protect and restore nature
2. Clean our air
3. Revive our oceans
4. Build a waste-free world
5. Fix our climate
The Earthshot Prize also encourages ‘wildcard’ nominations and insights that they haven’t considered, particularly when those nominations have the potential to inspire people globally. As such, Caribbean ‘wildcard’ projects can also be submitted for consideration.
Submit a Project
If you do not have a project to submit but know someone who does, share this information with them or guide them to our website. The Earthshot Prize is a unique opportunity to bring £1,000,000 in climate financing to the region and accelerate physical, economic and social development.
The deadline for submission of projects to CCSA is Monday 28th February, 2022, 12 noon AST.
