The Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) has announced that it has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blue Planet Alliance, a group of organisations working to create a world where humans and nature can coexist harmoniously. The mission of the Blue Planet Alliance is to encourage islands and countries around the world to legislatively mandate a commitment to 100% renewable energy by 2045. The group is constantly expanding and working toward what the CCSA considers a common aim.
The collaboration between the Accelerator and Blue Planet Alliance is a crucial step towards achieving our objectives of accelerating the energy transition in the Caribbean and establishing the region as a climate-smart zone. Through this collaboration, we aim to exchange ideas, share best practices, and even connect with potential suppliers who can contribute to our efforts. By working hand-in-hand with Blue Planet, we can tap into their expertise and experience, accelerating the progress of renewable energy projects and sustainable transportation initiatives. This partnership not only facilitates the transfer of knowledge but also creates a platform for networking and collaboration among stakeholders in the Caribbean energy sector. Together, we drive the implementation of innovative solutions, promoting the growth of clean energy industries and facilitating sound public and private investments. Through our collaborative action, we are well-positioned to generate 90% of electricity from renewable resources and electrify the transport sector by 2035, ultimately transforming the Caribbean’s economy and fostering resilience in the face of climate change.
