Join Us for Groundbreaking Climate Action!
The Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA) is excited to announce our participation at COP29, where we will be on the ground advocating for the needs and priorities of the Caribbean region. We are proud to have Racquel Moses, UNFCCC Global Ambassador and Chief Executive Officer of CCSA, along with Cheryl Senhouse, Finance Innovation Director, representing our organization.
Our Objectives at COP29
At COP29, CCSA will focus on three primary objectives that reflect our commitment to fostering climate resilience and adaptation across the Caribbean:
- Promotion of the Climate Smart Map
We aim to raise awareness about the Climate Smart Map, a vital tool that provides comprehensive insights for climate adaptation and sustainable development throughout the Caribbean. This resource is essential for informed decision-making, and we encourage all stakeholders to explore it at map.caribbeanaccelerator.org. Donors and investors can also use the Climate Smart Map to discover and support impactful projects tailored to our region’s needs. - Mobilizing Climate Finance
Securing adequate funding for climate initiatives is critical for our region’s sustainability. At COP29, we will actively engage with potential donors and investors committed to supporting climate projects in the Caribbean. By showcasing shovel-worthy projects, we hope to attract the resources necessary to implement effective adaptation strategies that benefit our communities. - Advocating for the Loss and Damage Fund
Following the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund at COP28, we will continue to advocate for its full capitalization. The recent impacts of Hurricane Beryl underscore the urgent need for enhanced support to address loss and damage throughout the Caribbean. We will emphasize the necessity of robust funding to ensure vulnerable communities can recover and build resilience against future climate impacts.
Additionally, we invite those interested in assisting hurricane relief efforts following Hurricane Beryl to consider contributing to the Hurricane Beryl Caribbean Relief Fund. Your donations will be instrumental in providing essential relief and recovery for affected communities.
Expected Outcomes
Through our participation at COP29, we aim to achieve several key outcomes: raising awareness of the Climate Smart Map as an essential tool for climate adaptation, forging strong partnerships with donors and investors to mobilize climate finance for Caribbean projects, and advocating for a fully funded Loss and Damage Fund to support communities impacted by climate change. By uniting our voices and efforts, we believe we can drive meaningful change and build a more resilient future for the Caribbean.

We invite all stakeholders—governments, NGOs, community leaders, and climate advocates—to connect with us at COP29. Together, we can share insights, explore collaborations, and advocate for the necessary resources and policies that will support our region in the face of climate challenges.
